Two Found Dead in Hialeah Apartment, Police Launch Investigation
A quiet Tuesday afternoon took a tragic turn in Hialeah when authorities discovered two people dead inside an apartment, prompting a death investigation by local law enforcement.
Officers with the Hialeah Police Department responded around 12:30 p.m. on July 29, 2025, to a call at the Atlantico at Aquabella apartment complex, located at 11120 W 35th Way. Upon arrival, officers entered the residence and found two individuals deceased inside the unit, a department spokesperson confirmed.
At this time, authorities have not released the names or ages of the victims, and the cause of death remains under investigation. The scene was secured by law enforcement, and forensic teams were observed entering the residence to collect evidence.
While speculation has circulated online and among residents of the complex, police have not confirmed whether foul play is suspected. The nature of the call that prompted the welfare check has also not been disclosed publicly.
In Florida, when individuals are found deceased under unclear or suspicious circumstances, the case may be handled by the Medical Examiner’s Office in conjunction with law enforcement. If foul play is discovered, charges can range from manslaughter to first-degree murder, depending on evidence.
Surviving family members may also have the right to pursue civil wrongful death claims if the deaths were caused by negligent or intentional acts. Under Florida Statutes § 768.19, the decedent’s estate can seek damages for loss of companionship, mental pain and suffering, lost income, and more.
If the deaths are found to be accidental—due to factors like dangerous property conditions, defective appliances, or drug overdose—landlords, manufacturers, or other parties could also face liability under Florida’s premises liability or product liability laws.
