For the past ten years, Michael has exclusively represented victims of negligence and corporate misconduct in civil litigation. At 29 years old, he had the distinction of obtaining a multi-million-dollar settlement in an individual personal injury lawsuit against one of the largest corporations in the world. It is believed that he is one of the youngest lawyers in the country to have obtained a multi-million-dollar settlement for a single-event personal injury case as lead counsel. That same year, Michael founded his own law firm focusing on representing people in cases against companies that refuse to do the right thing.
Michael is especially proud of the results he has achieved in cases that were viewed as “unwinnable” by other lawyers. In 2016, Michael a multi-million-dollar result of $5.2 million in a case that was turned down by eleven other plaintiff law firms. In 2017, he obtained another multi-million-dollar result of $2 million for a victim of medical malpractice in a case that was rejected by two other law firms. In 2018, Michael won a verdict against Geico Insurance Company resulting in Geico paying his client more than fifty times Geico’s highest pre-trial settlement offer. In 2019, he obtained another confidential multi-million-dollar settlement of $3.75 million in a difficult brain injury case that was declined by two other law firms. In 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic which shut down the legal system and prevented trials from going forward making settlement challenging, Michael secured over $10 million in settlements for firm clients, securing their financial futures in troubling times. In 2021, Michael obtained a $2.75 million for a client who suffered a concussion in a premises liability accident. In addition, he obtained a $1.25 million settlement for a client in an insurance bad faith case where the defendant’s insurer failed to timely pay its $100,000 policy limits.
Moreover, in 2014, he was inducted into the Daily Business Review Florida Verdicts Hall of Fame for his work with Goldberg & Rosen, P.A. in obtaining a $35 million verdict in a wrongful death case. Most recently, Flanagan was named “Top 40 Under 40” by the National Trial Lawyers Association. In 2019 and 2020, he was recognized by Verdict Search as having achieved a Top 100 Settlement in the United States in two consecutive years. In 2020, he obtained two of the top 50 (No. 30 and 31) settlements in the Southeastern United States as recorded by Verdict Search.

Moreover, Flanagan was selected by the faculty and administration as a recipient of the prestigious, Who’s-Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities Award.
In 2021, Michael and Zachary Bodenheimer merged their law firms with the vision to provide the highest standard of legal representation to victims of negligence and corporate misconduct by truly developing personal relationships with their clients and telling their clients’ human stories to jurors.
