Two Killed in Boynton Beach Office Building Shooting; Suspect Found Dead
A deadly shooting inside a Boynton Beach office building on Monday afternoon left two people dead and ended with the suspected gunman found deceased following a brief police pursuit, according to local authorities.
Police say officers responded to reports of gunfire around 4:00 p.m. inside an office building near the 2400 block of High Ridge Road. Witnesses reported that shots were fired inside the All American Farms Inc. office, a location situated just steps away from a tutoring center where children were present at the time.
When officers entered the building, they found two individuals suffering from fatal gunshot wounds. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
Authorities quickly identified a suspect vehicle following the shooting. A concerned resident later contacted police after spotting a vehicle matching the description near the 500 block of Northwest 7th Court.
Police attempted a traffic stop, but the driver fled, leading officers on a short pursuit. The chase ended when the vehicle crashed near 133 Leisureville Boulevard.
Officers discovered the suspect inside the vehicle, deceased from what police described as a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The suspect was identified as Nesar Dawla.
The proximity of the shooting to a tutoring center with children inside has heightened concerns about public safety and workplace violence. Authorities have stated there is no ongoing threat to the public, and the investigation remains active as detectives work to determine the motive and circumstances leading up to the shooting.
Law enforcement continues to review surveillance footage, witness statements, and forensic evidence.
Legal Options for Victims’ Families
When a fatal shooting occurs in a workplace or commercial setting, surviving family members may have legal options beyond the criminal investigation. Depending on the facts, potential civil claims may involve:
- Wrongful death claims for funeral expenses, loss of support, and mental pain and suffering
- Negligent security claims if inadequate safety measures contributed to the incident
- Premises liability against property owners or operators if foreseeable risks were not addressed
- Employer-related liability, depending on the relationship between the parties involved
Civil investigations often focus on whether warning signs were ignored, whether proper security protocols were in place, and whether reasonable steps could have prevented the tragedy.
