Three Hospitalized After Serious Crash on State Road 52 in Pasco County

Michael T. Flanagan, Esq.

A serious crash on State Road 52 near Bellamy Brothers Boulevard in Pasco County sent three individuals to the hospital Monday morning and temporarily shut down a portion of the roadway, according to Pasco County Fire Rescue.

The collision, which occurred in the early hours of August 4, prompted a rapid response from emergency services. Two medical helicopters were dispatched to the scene to airlift patients to nearby hospitals due to the severity of the injuries reported. In total, three people were hospitalized as a result of the crash.

State Road 52 was temporarily closed to allow for rescue operations and a preliminary investigation, but the road has since been reopened.

Photos released by Pasco County Fire Rescue show a heavy emergency presence and damaged vehicles along the highway. As of now, the extent of the victims’ injuries has not been publicly disclosed.

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is currently investigating the cause of the crash. Officials have not released any details regarding what led to the accident, whether drugs, alcohol, speed, or distracted driving played a role, or whether charges may be filed.

Car accidents, especially those that result in airlifts and hospitalization, can lead to long-term medical treatment, financial hardship, and emotional trauma. In cases like this, injured victims may have grounds to file a personal injury claim if the crash was caused by another driver’s negligence.

Victims may be entitled to compensation for:

  • Medical bills and emergency transport (including airlifts)
  • Future treatment or rehabilitation costs
  • Lost income and reduced earning capacity
  • Pain and suffering
  • Emotional distress

It’s important to act quickly after a crash, as evidence can disappear and legal deadlines apply. An experienced personal injury attorney can help investigate the circumstances, determine liability, and pursue maximum compensation.
