Tallahassee Police Investigating Two-Vehicle Crash Near Capital Circle NE and Care Drive

Michael T. Flanagan, Esq.

Authorities are investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred Thursday morning in Tallahassee and resulted in reported injuries, according to the Tallahassee Police Department.

The crash happened near the intersection of Capital Circle NE and Care Drive, a busy roadway in northeast Tallahassee.

Police first reported the crash shortly before 7:45 a.m., announcing that officers were responding to a traffic collision in the area.

Due to the crash, southbound lanes on Capital Circle NE were temporarily closed between Centerville Road and Care Drive while first responders worked at the scene.

By shortly after 9 a.m., police confirmed the roadway had been cleared and traffic was able to resume.

A Tallahassee Police Department watch commander confirmed that some injuries were reported in the crash, though the severity of those injuries was not immediately known.

Authorities stated that victims were still receiving medical treatment at the time the update was released.

Officials have not yet released information about the individuals involved or the circumstances leading up to the crash.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Collisions at busy intersections such as Capital Circle NE can occur for many reasons, including:

  • Failure to yield the right of way
  • Distracted driving
  • Speeding
  • Running traffic signals
  • Unsafe turning movements

Morning commute hours often increase the risk of crashes due to heavier traffic and rushed driving conditions.

Investigators will likely examine factors such as traffic signals, vehicle positioning, witness statements, and possible surveillance footage to determine how the collision occurred.

When a crash results in injuries, victims may have the right to pursue compensation if another driver’s negligence contributed to the collision.

Potential damages in car accident cases may include:

  • Emergency medical treatment
  • Hospitalization and rehabilitation
  • Lost wages
  • Pain and suffering
  • Future medical care

Determining liability often requires reviewing police reports, crash reconstruction evidence, and insurance records.

The Tallahassee Police Department continues to investigate the two-vehicle crash near Capital Circle NE and Care Drive.
