Police Searching for Driver After Hit-and-Run Crash Kills Pedestrian in Miami
Authorities are searching for a driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian early Friday morning in Miami.
According to the Miami Police Department, the crash occurred shortly before 3:30 a.m. on March 13, 2026, near the intersection of Northwest 12th Avenue and Northwest 28th Street in Miami, Florida.
The incident was captured on surveillance cameras in the area, and investigators are asking for the public’s help in locating the driver responsible.
According to police, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle near a gas station in the area during the early morning hours.
Surveillance footage reportedly shows an SUV striking the pedestrian and continuing to drive away without stopping.
Emergency responders from the Miami Fire Rescue arrived at the scene and transported the victim to **Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital for emergency treatment.
Despite lifesaving efforts, the victim later died from his injuries at the hospital.
Authorities have identified the victim as 62-year-old Antonio Sanchez.
Investigators say the vehicle involved in the crash is believed to be a tan or gold SUV with front-end damage.
Detectives are actively searching for the driver and are urging anyone who may have seen the vehicle or has information about the crash to come forward.
