Person Hospitalized After Vehicle Crashes Into Canal in Southwest Miami-Dade

Emergency crews responded Wednesday morning to a serious crash in southwest Miami-Dade after a vehicle left the roadway and plunged into a canal near a Florida’s Turnpike exit, authorities said.

According to officials, the incident occurred near the Florida’s Turnpike exit at Southwest 112th Avenue. When first responders arrived, they discovered that a car had crashed into a nearby canal.

Due to the nature of the incident, divers were deployed into the water to locate the vehicle and assist with rescue efforts.

One person was removed from the scene and transported to a hospital for treatment. Authorities have not released the individual’s identity or provided details about the extent of their injuries.
