According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 2:00 a.m. on July 20, 2026, at the intersection of Orange Blossom Trail and the northbound State Road 417 exit ramp.

• Witnesses told investigators the Kia entered the intersection against a red traffic signal.
• At the same time, a 43-year-old Kissimmee man driving a Freightliner tractor-trailer was making a left turn from the northbound SR-417 exit ramp onto northbound Orange Blossom Trail.
• The Kia collided with the left side of the trailer before leaving the roadway and striking a light pole.

The driver of the Kia suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
