Child Injured After SUV Crashes Into Furniture Store in North Miami
A frightening early morning crash in North Miami, Florida left a child injured after an SUV slammed into a furniture store, causing significant structural damage, according to local authorities.
The incident highlights the serious risks when vehicles leave the roadway and enter commercial buildings.
What We Know About the Crash
According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and police, the crash occurred in the early morning hours of April 17, 2026, near Northwest 126th Street and Northwest 7th Avenue.
Investigators say a white Audi SUV made an unsafe lane change and sideswiped a gray Dodge. Following the impact, the Dodge lost control and struck a tree, while the Audi continued forward and crashed into the Arona Home Essentials furniture store.
The force of the crash caused extensive damage, with video showing the front wall of the store torn apart and debris scattered throughout the interior. The SUV came to rest inside the building among furniture and merchandise.
Authorities confirmed that one child was transported to a hospital by private ambulance. A passenger in the Audi also sustained non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.
The building’s structural integrity is now being evaluated.

In multi-vehicle crashes, determining fault may require detailed accident reconstruction.
