Head-On Collisions Are Among the Most Dangerous Crashes

Head-on crashes frequently result in severe or fatal injuries because the force of impact is often amplified when two vehicles are traveling in opposite directions.

Common factors that can contribute to lane-departure crashes include:

  • Driver fatigue
  • Medical emergencies
  • Distracted driving
  • Impairment
  • Speed
  • Mechanical failures

At this time, investigators have not released what caused the Silverado to cross the centerline.

Investigation Remains Ongoing

The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.

Investigators are expected to review:

  • Vehicle damage
  • Roadway evidence
  • Witness statements
  • Driver history
  • Potential mechanical issues

Additional details may become available as the investigation progresses.
