- Possible driver distraction or impairment
- Witness statements and surveillance footage
Investigators will determine whether negligence played a role in the fatal crash.
Motorcycle Accidents and Left-Turn Collisions
Left-turn collisions are one of the most common and deadly types of motorcycle crashes. Drivers turning left across traffic often fail to see approaching motorcycles or misjudge their speed and distance.
Motorcyclists face heightened risk because they lack the physical protection of a passenger vehicle. Even low- to moderate-speed crashes can result in catastrophic or fatal injuries.
Common causes of motorcycle crashes involving other vehicles include:
- Failure to yield the right of way
- Distracted driving
- Misjudging speed or distance
- Unsafe turns at intersections
- Limited visibility
Legal Options After a Fatal Motorcycle Crash
When a motorcyclist is killed due to a collision involving another vehicle, surviving family members may have the right to pursue a wrongful death claim if negligence contributed to the crash.
A wrongful death case can help families recover compensation for:
- Funeral and burial expenses
- Medical costs incurred prior to death
- Loss of financial support
- Loss of companionship and emotional support
