4-Month-Old Baby Seriously Injured in Miramar Crash

A 4-month-old baby was seriously injured and the child’s mother was also hurt in a single-vehicle crash in Miramar, according to police.

The August 15, 2026 crash involved a mother and her two children and occurred in the 2300 block of Southwest 173rd Avenue. The Miramar Police Department’s Traffic Homicide Investigations Unit is investigating what caused the vehicle to crash.

What Happened in the Miramar Crash?

According to the Miramar Police Department, the crash occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of Southwest 173rd Avenue.

Police said a mother and her two children, including a 4-month-old infant, were involved in the single-vehicle collision.

The infant suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital for treatment.

The mother sustained minor injuries and was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood. Police said the second child was not injured.

Authorities have not released additional information about how the crash occurred or identified those involved.

What Caused the Single-Vehicle Crash?
