28-Year-Old West Palm Beach Man Killed in Chain-Reaction Crash on I-95 in Riviera Beach

A 28-year-old West Palm Beach man was killed Sunday night in a chain-reaction crash involving three vehicles on Interstate 95 in Riviera Beach, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Several other people suffered minor injuries in the collision, which temporarily shut down the northbound lanes of I-95 while investigators processed the scene.

What We Know About the Crash

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 11:20 p.m. on August 2, 2026, in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 near Mile Marker 75 in Riviera Beach.

Preliminary investigators reported that:

• A 2015 Cadillac ATS was stopped in the outside center lane of I-95.
• A 2013 BMW 328i traveling behind the Cadillac was unable to avoid a collision and struck the rear of the vehicle.
• Moments later, a 2015 Nissan Rogue traveling behind the BMW also collided with the Cadillac.

The 28-year-old driver of the Cadillac, a resident of West Palm Beach, suffered critical injuries and was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

Authorities said all other drivers and passengers involved sustained minor injuries and were also transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center for evaluation and treatment.

The northbound lanes of Interstate 95 remained closed for several hours before reopening at approximately 3:40 a.m. Monday.
