The following year, in 2016, Flanagan obtained a larger mutli-million dollar settlement of $5.2 million. In 2017, he obtained another multi-million dollar result of $2 million for a victim of medical malpractice.
Flanagan has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star, a distinction awarded to less than 2.5 percent of lawyers in the United States. Moreover, in 2014, he was inducted into the Daily Business Review Florida Verdicts Hall of Fame for his work with Goldberg & Rosen, P.A. in obtaining a $35 million judgement in a wrongful death case. Most recently, Flanagan was named “Top 40 Under 40” by the National Trial Lawyers Association.
Michael was born and raised in New York. He obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree from Northeastern University, where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Lambda Honors and Leadership Society.
Michael graduated from the University of Miami School of Law where he was nominated to serve as Attorney General of the Student Bar Association for two consecutive years. He was also elected to serve as clerk of the University of Miami School of Law chapter of the Phi Delta Phi International Honors and Leadership Fraternity. Moreover, Flanagan was selected by the faculty and administration as a recipient of the prestigious, Who’s-Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities Award.
At the University of Miami School of Law, Michael also earned the Dean’s Certificate for Outstanding Academic Achievement in Alternative Dispute Resolution and earned Honors in Maritime Personal Injury Law. Michael has also worked with the Law Offices of the Public Defender for the 11th Judicial Circuit of Florida representing children facing life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Lauren DeFabio Flanagan
Lauren DeFabio Flanagan is a partner with the firm, providing trial support and handling the briefing of all of the Firm's federal court matters. Prior to joining the firm, Lauren spent seven years representing large corporations, including major cruise lines and airlines, as well as various insurance companies in personal injury and wrongful death litigation. During that time Lauren specialized in the handling of sexual assault claims and her work in this area has been featured in the Daily Business Review.
Lauren was born and raised in Miami, Florida, graduating from Ransom Everglades Upper School. She attended college at the University of Florida where she graduated with high honors and a perfect 4.0 grade point average. Lauren is an alumnus of the University of Miami School of Law. During her time at the University of Miami School of Law, Lauren was on the Dean's List for several semesters, received the Dean's Certificate of Achievement for Outstanding Academic Performance in Legal Research and Writing, and served as an Articles and Comments Editor on the Business Law Review. She graduated with honors in the top 10% of her class.
